Sorbitol 70% is a liquid form of sorbitol, a sugar alcohol used as a bulk sweetener, humectant, and texturizer in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. It is about 60% as sweet as sucrose but with fewer calories, is non-cariogenic (does not cause tooth decay), and is poorly absorbed, making it suitable for diabetic products and products designed to be sugar-free. It is also used as a laxative and in personal care products like toothpaste and mouthwash.
